“Having grown up in the Tweed Valley and competing against Murwillumbah High and Wollumbin netball teams, I felt saddened by the announcement of the school consolidation and was weary of the motivation behind the decision. The Murwillumbah town is known for being fiercely independent, the residents quite eclectic, a mix of rural and hippie, with a large art collective, and to me the sight of a huge, modern 3 storey-high school goes against what the town values.”
