The event featured a number of food trucks from Gold Coast Food Trucks organisation, along with live music, kid’s activities and a stand-up comedian.

Local food truck owner Jim Monroe said he enjoys bringing his food truck to events like this and making food for locals.

‘‘It’s a great day out for the family. All the entertainment and food, I like coming to events like this,’’ Mr Monroe said.

The event had a large turnout of locals, with many coming down to the Gardens to enjoy the warm day outside with their family.

‘‘There’s lots of people here, which is great,’’ Mr Monroe said.

Locals had the choice of choosing food from around the world as trucks specialising in Greek, American and Mexican cuisines were spread throughout the Botanic Gardens.

One local, Amy Wells said the entertainment and food made for a great day out with her family.

‘‘There’s heaps of food choices for lunch and the music is great. It’s been a really good day out for Father’s Day,’’ Mrs Wells said.

‘‘Having all the children’s activities is a really good idea, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.’’

The Gold Coast Food Truck Organisation has been holding events like this one on a more regular basis due to the growing popularity of Food Truck cuisines.

‘‘There should definitely be more events like this, it’s a good idea and there’s a range of food that people can try, it’s great.’’
