It’s hard to believe that Tara Tiba is banned from singing in public, in her home country of Iran.

Despite laws banning women from recording or performing with their voices, Tara honed her skills, and now produces music drawing inspiration from jazz, latin, and flamenco.

The architect turned Aria nominated singer moved to Australia eight years ago, and her moving vocal performance enthralled audiences at Integrity 20.

She spoke with Athena Zelandonii about trading isolated Iran for isolated Perth, and her goal of sharing Iranian music with the world.
