The Gold Coast 2018 Queen’s Baton Relay will have covered over 230,000 km by the time it reaches Carrara Stadium on the 4 April, making it the longest in Commonwealth Games history.

Griffith University’s Nathan Campus was fortunate enough to be one of the stops along the route.  The baton didn’t just pass through but stayed at the campus for festivities put on for the local community.

The Queen’s Baton was carried by 2017 Australian of the Year Professor Emeritus Alan Mackay Sims and Australian sinologist  Professor Emeritus Colin Mackerras AO.
