8 Street, a new dining experience, is set to revive the hospitality trade on Cavill Lane in Surfers Paradise.

With stage one expected to be completed in December, the new development will resemble a mini China town with all of the tastes, colours and smells of Asia.

With six restaurants and over 30 street food stalls, the precinct is being welcomed by Councillor, Gary Baildon.

“The Commonwealth Games are only a few months away which will mean a lot more tourists to the coast,” Mr Baildon said.

“I think the variety of options will help showcase what we have to offer as an international destination.”

Owner of the renowned 8 Street Brisbane, David Wu is confident that his latest venture will draw support from locals in the area.

“I think people will love it,” Mr Wu said.

“A lot of locals now come from Asia or go regularly – when they look at the food court they will find it very familiar to a lot of the places they have travelled to.”

The final stage is expected to be completed in February 2018.
