Melbourne Cup is a day filled with booze, house racing, gambling and of course fashion. For any Fashionistas out there who want the world to see what they have either designed themselves or is wearing famous designer dresses, the Melbourne Cup is the place to be!
For fashion designer and University student Jelena Jankovic, the Melbourne Cup was the perfect place to advertise her new Indian clothing wear.
The Fashion Show took place at the Italo-Australian Club in the Gold Coast, welcoming the Italian and Australian seniors from all over Brisbane. During the show, the guests were entertained by Jelena and her Models walking around the venue and showing off the hottest Indian styles.
While studying a bachelor of Internal Relations, Jelena also spent four months last year in Dubai. During her stay she designed her own Kaftan clothing line called What to Wear. “Fashion has always been my passion, and with the support of my family and friends I was able to make my dreams come true.” says Jelena while prepping for the show.
“I want my Kaftans to be affordable for everyone which is why all the long Kaftans are made in two different materials; Poly Georgette and 100% Silks which covers two different price ranges. Only the Poly Georgette Kaftans are sheer which makes them great to slip over a bikini, however they can also be worn out with a slip underneath. While both materials are same design, our Silk kaftans are non-sheer and have more vibrant colours and softer, more flowy material.” Jenlena continues.
The Kaftans not only are made from the finest materials, but one size fits all, have versatile styles, Swarovski Crystals embellishments and can be spot cleaned.
“I love the Kaftans, modelling them mad me feel so free and beautiful.” says Nada Kebabzz one of the models and Jelena’s best friend who is very supportive of What to Wear fashion line.
What to Wear clothing line sells not only Kaftans, but also silk designer dress, accessories, pants, skirts, tops and Intimates. All purchases can be purchased online, or at the Eagle Street Markets were Jelena is soon to set up her stall.
