A whopping forty million dollars was spent on an arterial road that will help ease traffic congestion.

It has been a long time coming for local members in North Lakes.

The five kilometre road stretches from Anzac Avenue and connects to Boundary Road.

Blair Britton, Regional Manager for Stockland emphasised the enormity of the project and was thankful that it is finally complete.

“The total cost of the project was forty million dollars and it was delivered in stages over a period of six years. It now provides a crucial link between Anzac Avenue and Boundary Road.” He said.

With the project costing millions, it seems inevitable to do nothing but succeed.

Mayor Allan Sutherland was also enjoying the opening by feeling the bitumen and commentating the hard work that has been done.

“This is a great piece of infrastructure…feel it…have a look at it.” Mr Sutherland pleasingly announced.

Commuters will also be pleased to know that they won’t have to wait long as it is due to open as early as this afternoon.

North Lakes is set to boom with a current project underway costing another $25 million for a sports club that will create hundreds of jobs.

As well as this, the area has Queensland’s solitary Costco Warehouse, Australia’s biggest Bunnings and a new Event Cinema complex.

The state’s additional IKEA is correspondingly set to open its doors to the community by the end of this year.

Mr Britton articulates the importance this structure is in order to support the Moreton Bar Region’s growth and development in the future.

“It is a key artery through north lakes.” He states.
