Independent blues/soul performer Shaun Kirk is set to perform the next for three days at Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival.
Shaun flew in from Melbourne earlier this morning, according to a tweet shared on his Twitter account @shaunkirkmusic.
Shaun is renowned for his multi-instrument skills, blessing his audiences with snippets of acoustic guitar, harmonica, and percussion.
Shaun is one of the more recent artists to emerge in the blues genre, gaining huge popularity after his debut record was awarded ‘Best Debut Album’ at VIC/TAS Blues Music Awards in 2010.
In 2012, his second album ‘Thank You for Giving Me the Blues’ hit number one on the Australian Blues/Roots Airplay Charts.
His latest album ‘Steer the Wheel’ premiered at number one on the Australian Blues iTunes Charts in 2014, with influences ranging from rock, soul and rhythm and blues.
Through a crowd funding campaign for his recent album, Shaun was able to donate percentage of the sales profit to Orphfund, a non-for-profit organisation that aids abandoned children on an international scale.
