Food for the Blues on Broadbeach

NEEKAH STRICKLAND

From 19-22 May, the suburb of Broadbeach will close several roads in order to open its doors to a range of world-class blues performers, bands and artists for the Blues on Broadbeach free music festival.

If you’re lucky enough to have cleared your schedule for a day or two to catch some of the world’s greatest Blues performers, here’s my three favourite spots to grab a bite in-between acts.

BBcafe

Bavarian Bier Cafe

You can find this awesome restaurant underneath the Oracle site within Broadbeach. Not shying from its name, the Bavarian Bier Café serves up Pure Bier and fine Bavarian food.

This establishment is open Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. I recommend heading here late afternoon before a major act to try a 1-Litre Lager and traditional Schnitzel meal.

You can opt to eat inside or out and the homey-feel of the restaurant makes it a good choice for a meal with friends or family.

koi

Koi Dining & Lounge Bar

Koi Dining & Lounge Bar is the perfect destination if you are after a sophisticated and sleek dining experience.

The venue prides itself on its superior alfresco dining, open fireplace and captivating atmosphere.

Their menu extends from a la carte dining and tapas to share plates. I strongly recommend heading here for dinner and drinks with a loved one before one of your favourite nighttime acts.

They are open from Monday to Sunday 7am-Late.

meccaBah

Mecca Bah

This casual dining restaurant is located within the Oracle precinct in Broadbeach. They are best known for their Modern Moroccan, Middle Eastern and North African inspired dishes, also offering plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.

The busy, yet casual restaurant boasts a funky and trendy atmosphere, allowing for walk-ins as well as bookings.

Head to Mecca Bah for lunch or dinner between 11:30am-Late for some exceptional Mediterranean cuisine!
