NEEKAH STRICKLAND and RISAKO ASAHI
The Blues on the Broadbeach free festival started this Thursday morning with a “welcome to country” from an elder of the Yugambeh tribe.
Blue Shaddy then kicked off the Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival in style at the Broadbeach Mall Stage.
The band consists of three McClelland family members: Jim (Guitarist & Singer/Songwriter), Graham (Harmonica), Sandy (Bass Guitarist) and family friend Callum Kramer (Drummer).
The four-piece band started off their performance at the most unlikely Blues time 10.30am by thanking the audience for supporting them at such an early hour of the day.

Blue Shaddy opened with their song ‘Moonshine’ from their 2008 album ‘Bury The Ghost’.
The cloudy weather was not enough to dim the smiles of music lovers as they gathered to hear the raw vocals and haunting wail of the harmonica.
The energy of the Western Australian blues group was electrifying and a few members of the audience got to their feet to dance along to some of their most loved songs.
Blue Shaddy have just released their 4th album “Across the Road” which contains impressive batch of songs.
Many blues enthusiasts were already sporting ‘Blues on Broadbeach’ 2016 merchandise for the first act.
Be sure to catch Blue Shaddy everyday this festival, their energetic presence and raw musical talent is not to be missed!
