Triathlon contender Peter Kerr has his sights set to take out the win at the 2015 Noosa triathlon and plans to compete in a half Ironman distance race in the future.

The elite competitor has conquered many international and national Olympic-distance triathlons and now wants to try his hand at an Ironman 70.3.

“I’m now looking to make the follow-on that tends to happen in triathlon racing,” Kerr said.

“I’m basically just looking at racing well and my sights next year will probably be on the world champs in Mooloolaba.”

Kerr won the 2012 Noosa triathlon and is hoping to do it again this year.

“I feel the numbers are quite good, the body feels quite good and I’m in a nice happy place.”

“I’m relaxed and confident going in which is normally a good sign for a good race,” Kerr said.

Kerr is coming back from a successful overseas stint where he took out the win in the 2015 London Triathlon.

The Noosa Triathlon is an important race for Kerr and is the event he always seems to come back to, with this year being the seventh time as a competitor.

“What I love most is the place really. I’ve had success there and I’ve also had the bad races as well but I’ve always been really happy to get there and race,” Kerr said.

“It’s a really great atmosphere… and just a general happiness that comes from being in Noosa.”
