Lord Mayor Graham Quirk launched the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival with the unveiling of ten artistically designed Mercedes-Benz in Brisbane’s King George Square.

To mark the festivals’ tenth anniversary, ten of Australia’s leading designers created a design that represented their brand.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival media manager, Karryn Wheelans said each fashionista spent a great deal of time on their design.

Alex Perry, Aje, Easton Pearson, George Wu, Maiocchi, Paul Hunt, Sacha Drake, Toni Maticevski, Urbbana and Vogue were among those who contributed.

Event speaker and Channel Ten reporter, Josh Holt said festival goers can look forward to seeing the designers’ “vibrant or sophisticated or even subtly styled luxury cars out-and-about throughout the festival.”

Australian fashion designer, Alex Perry said he likes how Brisbane people connect with fashion adding that he enjoys their style.

“I think people in Brisbane have a different take on fashion, they’ve always taken it seriously,” he said.

“What I love is that Fashion Week is taking off in a lot of cities in Australia and it really becomes their own.”
