Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes is ‘pumped’ and ready to hit the stage, returning to his “first love” of stand-up comedy for his 2015 ‘Pumped’ national tour.

Logan City’s Entertainment Centre will be one of the first venues to host the show next week, and having never visited the city, Hughes said he is looking forward to the visit.
“I’ve spent a lot of time in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and in and around the area, but I’ve never been to Logan so I look forward to it.”
The comedian, who previously co-hosted The Project and currently hosts a radio show based in Melbourne alongside Kate Langbroek on 97.3FM, says locals can expect to hear some fun poked at their hometown.
“I like to localise my acts as well,” he said.
“So, I’ll look to see what’s news in Logan and how I can turn that into comedy.”
Hughes says his act will involve some audience interaction, in particular, with anyone who arrives late.
“If you’re in the front row, you book first, and you turn up last, you can expect to be talked to,” he said.
“So don’t book first and turn up last. That’s a tip.”
Hughesy said he draws inspiration for his shows from his wife and three kids.
“My family is a big inspiration now, my children are just absolute maniacs!”
With his six year old son a fan of dinosaurs, and the Dinosaur Discovery exhibition a popular attraction nearby in Brisbane, Hughesy wishes he knew more species when asked about his favourite.
“I’m going to say Brontosaurus just because it comes to my mind,” he said.
“My son will be very disappointed that I can’t remember more dinosaurs!”
Dave Hughes’ stand-up comedy tour arrives at the Logan Entertainment Centre on September 4, 2015 at 8:00pm.
