US President Barack Obama captivated a Brisbane audience on Saturday, delivering a keynote speech in which he pledged a deeper engagement with Asia-Pacific and urged nations, including Australia, to combat climate change.
Speaking in an auditorium at the University of Queensland, the president’s rallying call for more action to cut greenhouse gas emissions was punctuated by applause from about 1,000 people.
His call for gender equality and LGBTI rights also received loud cheers, seemingly transcending Australian political divide.
The Source was there to capture the atmosphere.
