Two women were taken into custody and excluded from G20 zones after they were found to be in possession of prohibited items.

One of the women, 25, was officially charged with one count of possession of a prohibited item under G20 laws.

The prohibited items are alleged to be a gas mask and a multi-tool.

The other woman, 20, was given an exclusion notice but no formal charges were laid.

A Queensland Police Media spokesperson said the two came under police attention at a protest on Roma Street.

Both women are now not legally allowed to enter the G20 exclusion zones until the event is over.
