Discussions on Facebook, Reddit and other social media mocked Mr Hunt’s refusal to acknowledge climate change policy.

Redditor Veiocity said Mr Hunt and the Liberal Party are not doing enough to lead the world by example.

“Hunt dodged every question related to the environment directed toward him. What a joke of an environment minister,” Veiocity said.

“The Liberal Party is content with Australia playing catch up. The Abbot Point reef dredging alone shows whose side Hunt is on.”

A cartoon by Time Quarterback critiquing Hunt’s poor performance was posted to his Facebook and Twitter pages and quickly went viral across Australian social media outlets.

Mr Hunt was approached for comment but was unavailable.
