G20 Road Closures: Updates

Road closures will be progressively rolled out this week and most will remain in effect until after the G20, affecting areas in South Bank and Brisbane’s CBD.

Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time if travelling through affected areas, with public transport still the best option despite its delays.

The Source will be monitoring road closures each morning and this page will be updated with the latest and most accurate information.

Brisbane CBD and South Bank Closures/Changes:

Monday, November 10
Russell St – Closed between South Bank Promenade and Grey St.

Tuesday, November 11
Adelaide St
– Closed to inbound traffic between Ivory St and Queen street. Outbound traffic unaffected.
Ivory St – Closed inbound between Brunswick St and Ann St in addition to Ann St and Story Bridge. Outbound traffic unaffected.
Queen St – One lane closed inbound between Adelaide St and Ann St. Outbound traffic unaffected.

Thursday, November 13 (from 7pm)
Alice Street, Ann Street, Roma Street and William Street
– Lane closures, through traffic permitted.
Queens Wharf Road – Entrance and exit on William Street will be closed, accessible from the south.
William Street/North Quay – Closed between Ann and Elizabeth Streets.
Victoria Bridge – Closed.
Howard Street – Closed at Macrossan Street, with exception to vehicles displaying a valid Local Access Pass.
Melbourne Street – Closed between Victoria Bridge and Cordelia Street.
Hope Street – Closed between Peel Street and Melbourne Street. Local access permitted.
Merivale Street – Closed between Melbourne Street and Ernest Street as well as Peel Street and Melbourne Street. Local access permitted.
Glenelg Street – Closed between Grey Street and railway overpass as well as between Cordelia Street and Merivale Street. Local access permitted between Cordelia Street and Merivale Street.
Grey Street – Closed between Peel Street and Melbourne Street as well as northbound between Glenelg Street and Ernest Street.
Russell Street – Closed between Cordelia Street and Merivale Street. Local access permitted.
Little Stanley Street – Only operating one way northbound between Glenelg Street and Ernest Street, from the South Bank car park entry/exit.


Airport Road Closures/Changes:

Airport Drive – The exit from Moreton Drive onto Airport Drive will be closed from Friday 14 November to approximately mid-afternoon Saturday 15 November. There will also be periodic closures along Airport Drive between Nancy Bird Way and Lomandra Drive over the duration of the Summit.
Da Vinci Business Park – Modified access arrangements via Lomandra Drive/Boronia Road/Sugarmill Road intersection will be in place due the closure of parts of Boronia Road (west) and Leonardo Drive from 6:00pm Wednesday 12 November to 12:00pm Monday 17 November. It is recommended that staff and tenants travel via Sugarmill Road to access this precinct.
Qantas Drive – Modified access arrangements will be provided for businesses along Qantas Drive. Entry will be available (vehicle size restrictions apply) via the International terminal. Vehicle size restrictions will be provided by Brisbane Airport Corporation.
Viola Place – Access to Viola Place will be accessible at all times.
SkyGate – Access to and from Skygate will be available at all times from Airport Drive. Lakeside Drive will experience periodic road closures from 12.01am Friday 14 November to midnight Sunday 16 November.
Pinkenba (Main Beach Road/Bancroft Road/Main Myrtleton Road): Lomandra Road will experience periodic road closures therefore recommended access to Pinkenba is via Kingsford Smith Drive/Eagle Farm Road.
