Bomb threat at Sunshine Coast train station

BREAKING: Nambour train station has been evacuated as Queensland Police respond to a bomb threat.

Police were notified of the threat around 8.45 am and Translink has confirmed all trains have been diverted from the station.

Queensland Police have confirmed they have declared an emergent situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act at the Nambour train station around 10.15am.

The search for any suspicious device continues as the public have been evacuated and warned to avoid the area including Currie Street, Mill Street and Price Street if possible.

Translink says there will be delays of up to 45 minutes as buses are redirected to avoid the area.

Fire, ambulance and police crews are still on scene at Nambour station.

UPDATE: Train services have resumed as of 11.45am.
