Spring has arrived exciting all sports fans as the finals season for 2013 kicks off around the nation.
The first week of the AFL finals was a week of upsets with top performance Collingwood Magpies and Richmond Tigers kick out already.
The Pies season was anything less that great but Port Adelaide Power put that to rest with a strong performance in all quarters to ensure their spot in the semi finals.
The Tigers season was one of the best in a few years but theĀ Carlton Blues, who are currently 9th on the ladder, secured their place in the semi finals.
The Blues were given a free pass to the finals only due to the drug charges laid against Essendon Bombers who were then pushed out of the finals.
Hawthorn Hawks left the Sydney Swans stunned with a 54-point victory and the Fremantle Dockers hung on to beat the Geelong Cats by 15 points.
This week’s semi finals has the Cats taking on the in-form Port on Friday night and the Swans taking on the Blues Saturday evening.
