Brisbane fitness fanatics were once again up and moving for the annual Bridge to Brisbane on Sunday.
The 10km journey, proudly sponsored by The Sunday Mail and Suncorp Bank, took participates up and over the gateway bridge at 6am on Sunday morning.
While some people take the race seriously and aim to take home first place, others dressed up in costumes and embraced it as a day out.
Winners this year included Stephen Dinneen with 30:40 and Clare Geraghty with 35:56 in the 10km race, Matt Hawke with 14:15 and Margaret Atthow with 16:26 in the 5km race.
Participant James Harper said he had a great time at the event.
“The distance wasn’t hard, it was just a lot of fun really,” he said.
The race has always been known for its’ strict focus on charity where participants donate funds to their selected organisation.
With numbers well over last years record, it’s safe to say the event is in pretty good hands.
The event comes less than two weeks after the Queensland’s first Tough Mudder event on the Sunshine Coast.
