REBECCA SINGH The Brisbane Broncos kept their finals hopes alive with a close win over the St George Illawarra Dragons on Sunday. It was a crucial win for the Broncos who were desperately trying to keep their finals hopes alive. The victory for the Broncos was overshadowed with star centre Justin Hodges suffering a season ending Achilles injury. Hodges was carried off the field in the first half with many supports thinking the Broncos chance of victory was carried of with him. Brisbane Broncos fan Sam Brown said that there is no chance for the Brisbane Broncos to secure a top eight spot without Hodges. “They have had so many injuries and have had losses in games we should have won,” Mr Brown said. “The loss of Yow Yeh has just added to the loss.” “We as a club need to come together and regroup for next season and hope it is better than this one.” Broncos star winger Jharal Yow Yeh has had his career cut short and has been forced into early retirement. Yow Yeh suffered a terrible ankle fracture at the start of last season and since resigned to never play again.
