See, smell, taste and feel Thai.

The annual Thai cultural event ‘Brisbane Thai Festival’ is returning. There will be many things to explore about Thai foods and culture at this event.

“Some of the highlights in the day are a Buddhist ceremony, meditation, traditional Thai dance performances, Thai sword martial arts and tips for Thai cuisine,” said the project manager Ms Shapa Thanarattanabodee.

There are also Thai food stalls with a wide range of dining options from the famous Thai restaurants in South East Queensland such as My Thai, Café De Siam and Chaing Rai Thai.

The visitors can buy the traditional Thai food and a range of hand-crafted goods.

“The aim for this event is to represent the Thai community in Brisbane and Queensland and to promote Thai restaurants in Queensland,” Ms Thanarattanabodee said.

The Brisbane Thai Festival 2013 is on Sunday, 18 August at the Cultural Forecourt, South Bank Parkland. Activities start at 9:00 am and continue throughout the day until 8:30 pm.
