The eagerly anticipated 136th Royal Queensland Show opened today at the Brisbane Showgrounds attracting a massive crowd.
This years show takes a new spin with ‘Ekka IgNites 360’, a professionally produced night show presented by local radio station B105.
The traditional nine-day show, known for bringing the country to the city, opened today and has revamped its image for this years show.
Judging Queensland’s finest cattle is only one of the many attractions at the Ekka along with laser shows, Sideshow Alley, Iron Man and Australia’s only jet pack pilot making an appearance at Ekka IgNites 360.
Regular show goer Jodie Holmes said she enjoyed the variety offered at this year’s exhibition.
“It is so exciting to be able to enjoy Queensland’s finest cattle one minute and watch Ricki-Lee perform the next,” she said.
“It’s really offering visitors value for money this year, especially when so many travel so far to enjoy the excitement the Ekka brings.”
Ekka IgNites will be running nightly from 9-17 August in coordination with the normal show times.
