The BBC’s hit television series ‘Doctor Who’ has recently announced the new incarnation of the time traveling alien Doctor.
It was announced on Monday that Peter Capaldi will take over the main role from Matt Smith as the twelfth Doctor.
Mr Capaldi is a well known Scottish actor and film director who is best known for his role as Malcolm Tucker in ‘The Thick of It’, another BBC television series.
Since the announcement social media networks and online forums have been received an influx or entries from fans.
The posts suggested a positive attitude toward the role change however others are still skeptical of Mr Capaldi’s ability to portray the much loved Doctor.
Filming for the new series of Doctor Who is set to commence in October/November, making this its 50th year of broadcast.
